Macaroni and Mixings

Macaroni and Mixings

Utensils needed:

Large pot with lid
A stirring utensil
Sharp knife & cutting board
Can opener

Ingredients needed:

1 package of gluten free noodles (I used macaroni, you could use whatever you'd like)
3/4 pot of water
1 teaspoon of salt

Alterable and/or removable ingredients:
1 can of tomatoes (I used diced, you could use whatever you would like)
1 green onion (I used green, you could use whatever you would like)
Precooked gluten free meat (smokies, hot dogs or sausages are easy--but you could use whatever you like or happen to have on hand)
3 tablespoons of Cheese Whiz (you could use non-processed cheeses or anything else you want instead)

  • Fill pot 3/4 full with water; add salt, turn on high.
  • Follow the instructions on your pasta package. Cooking times vary with brand and base ingredients--but generally, you put the pasta in the water when it reaches a rolling boil and turn the heat down to medium high, stirring occasionally.
  • Chop up any optional ingredients that you have chosen to add. If you have chosen to use the can of tomatoes, open it up so it is ready. You may wish to drain away any liquid from the can that you do not want in your pasta later.
  • When the noodles are soft enough for your liking, drain the water.
  • Place back on the heated element, turn temperature down to medium.
  • Add Cheese Whiz, tomatoes and any other optional ingredients; stir until heated through.

FOR NON-DAIRY: Omit the cheese whiz and add a can of tomatoes; add herbs such as parsley, sage, basil and oregano to combat the tart tomato taste if you wish. Enjoy!
